Many congratulations to Neil McCall, the winner of our recent dash-cam giveaway competition.
Neil was selected at random by computer and took delivery of his prize last Friday when our nationwide installation team visited him at his home in West Heaton, Manchester. He is now the proud owner of a Blackvue DR650S and a Power Magic Pro hard-wire kit.
The DR650S is a stylish forward-facing 1080P dash cam – a high-performance camera that is one of the best available in terms of recording quality with full HD capability. It also has a variety of useful features such as cloud technology, built-in WiFi and GPS.
Couple this with the Power Magic Pro hard-wire kit, a power-monitoring unit which prevents discharging of the vehicle battery, then you have a pretty robust camera system for your car. As part of the giveaway prize, Neil was also lucky enough to have the whole system installed for him.
As you can see from the photograph here, once in place the DR650S offers a very discreet and stylish solution to an on-board camera.
Thank you very much guys. The camera was installed with no fuss and while driving I don’t even know it’s there as it’s behind the mirror. I can’t fault the camera, good clear picture and sound quality.
I have used the Blackvue SD card viewer on my laptop to view footage and I’m amazed at how accurate the mapping and speed is. Just wish the record time could be longer as seems to not want to record for more than 1 minute despite changing the settings. Minor problem and not an inconvenience as at least I know I will have footage if I need it.
The power magic pro is a great little addition. I know I can leave the car parked with the camera in park mode, but I will still have enough juice in the battery to start the car as the power magic pro will stop the camera to preserve the battery power when it gets below a set level. A great little idea.
Again thanks a lot to everyone involved. I would recommend the Blackvue DR650S to anybody who wants a camera for their car. It’s a great peace of mind to know it’s there.
Hi Neil, you’re more than welcome. I’m glad to hear you are happy with the camera. You can adjust the recording between 1 minute, 2 minute and 3 minute length segments. If you adjust this through the app just make sure to click the back arrow a couple of times and then a message should appear where you can select save and close. After this the changes should take affect. Any problems feel free to give us a call. Thanks
